This Iron age hill fortress is managed by the National Trust. There is a small car park just off the B3165 between the Fishpond turning and Marshwood village. As always don't leave anything in your car that you don't want to be stolen. The car park contains an information panel which details some of the castle's history and wildlife.

From the car park you can walk along the edge of the hill above the B3165 through the trees. You will then come out of the trees and walk around the fortress enclosure. There used to be a signalling station sited here. Walking along the eastern edge affords spectacular views out across the Marshwood Vale. You can then complete a triangular walk by heading back across the parkland.
